In 2013, Eug\u00e8nia discovered an abandoned space in the Empordanet, right where she dreamed of building her project. With her characteristic optimism, she didn't see ruin, but potential. With care and perseverance\u2014also a trademark of the house\u2014the old mas (country house) was rehabilitated following local architecture and reusing materials, transforming it into a living system capable of growing, adapting, and generating life. Everything fits with the name of the street dedicated to Saint Generosus, the patron saint of Fonteta, which shares the Greek root gen\u2014present in the name Gener\u00f3s, in Eug\u00e8nia, and in what defines the origin of life: that which is genuine, that generates and regenerates.<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Mas Gener\u00f3s is a hotel conceived from the very beginning with criteria of environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and circular economy. Therefore, the project’s ecological commitment is structural from its inception. An example of this is the geothermal wells drilled underground to reduce energy consumption and improve guest comfort with minimal environmental impact. Another is the large rainwater storage tank, used for garden irrigation and greywater, closing the water cycle through an efficient use of water resources.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In addition to not wasting energy, the garden creates it. It harbors life and promotes biodiversity, as we create natural spaces respectfully and include vegetation that favors the presence of bees, butterflies, birds, insects, and pollinators. We understand this biodiversity not as decorative elements of the garden, but as an essential part of its balance, energy, and beauty.<\/p>

The entire project is designed around concepts like bioeconomy and circularity\u2014reducing consumption and operating with a logic where everything is connected, where organic waste that isn’t reused is transformed into compost and returned to the earth. The zero-waste mindset and energy efficiency extend to our relationship with local suppliers, working with local produce and our own garden, reducing the impact of transport and supporting the local economy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Mas Gener\u00f3s is much more than a sustainable hotel: it is an ecosystem where all elements\u2014nature, architecture, people, and activity\u2014are connected and function in balance. The garden nourishes the kitchen, the kitchen feeds the experience, and the house welcomes people. This virtuous triangle generates many moments of well-being and offers a new way of traveling in harmony with increasingly valued international concepts such as wellness, slow travel, and regenerative tourism.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
