In 2013, Eugènia discovered an abandoned space in the Empordanet, right where she dreamed of building her project. With her characteristic optimism, she didn't see ruin, but potential. With care and perseverance—also a trademark of the house—the old mas (country house) was rehabilitated following local architecture and reusing materials, transforming it into a living system capable of growing, adapting, and generating life. Everything fits with the name of the street dedicated to Saint Generosus, the patron saint of Fonteta, which shares the Greek root gen—present in the name Generós, in Eugènia, and in what defines the origin of life: that which is genuine, that generates and regenerates.

In addition to not wasting energy, the garden creates it. It harbors life and promotes biodiversity, as we create natural spaces respectfully and include vegetation that favors the presence of bees, butterflies, birds, insects, and pollinators. We understand this biodiversity not as decorative elements of the garden, but as an essential part of its balance, energy, and beauty.

The entire project is designed around concepts like bioeconomy and circularity—reducing consumption and operating with a logic where everything is connected, where organic waste that isn’t reused is transformed into compost and returned to the earth. The zero-waste mindset and energy efficiency extend to our relationship with local suppliers, working with local produce and our own garden, reducing the impact of transport and supporting the local economy.
